What is Rhus Tox?

Rhus Tox oral solution is a natural remedy prepared from the resin of the plant, Rhus Toxicodendron, which is the base substance of poison ivy and poison sumac.  Taking our Rhus Tox preparation in the Winter can reduce the occurrence and symptoms of poison ivy, oak and sumac by encouraging your body to build its own immunity to the toxinx.  Most people achieve complete immunity, while those who are highly allergic have only mild reactions.

How do I take it?

Rhus Tox solution is taken in three small doses.  The solution is held in the mouth for 30 seconds and then swallowed.  The dose is repeated the same day of the following week until all three doses have been taken.  It is best to take the Rhus Tox solution between meals and to avoid mint flavored foods such a mints, mint mouthwash and mint toothpaste after taking Rhus Tox.  The best results of rhus Tox are obtained when it is taken in the Winter months, when the plants are dormant.  Children, as long as they can hold the solution in the mouth for 30 seconds, may also benefit from rhus Tox when it is administered by an adult.
